Price: 15 $ US [approximated].

Brits have always amazed me. Tony Allen has invented a very humane device for catching spiders and other small insects. Allen says that he spent most of his brighter years of life trying to yank the spiders from under his son’s bed, until he finally found a way to solve his dilemma. Spider Catcher resembles a handle from a vacuum cleaner with some fiber wires sticking out. To catch an insect you have to aim for it, and then press the trigger. This will make the device gently pick up the insect with its many mini-brushes. After that you can throw your enemy out the window and let it go or just squash the little fucker.

The price for this ingenious and revolutionary invention is nearly 20 dollars [with shipping]. I also do not think that this device will work on every insect – if you look in the “movie” section on the website you will notice that the spider that they are picking up resembles a tennis ball by it’s size. I think that this specialized device will not pick up most small insects. I believe that a flyswatter is a much better solution – not only does it exterminate the insect population, but also moral self-satisfaction.

Maybe they should advertise this device as a device to move small animals – mice, rats, birds, and gerbils. A jumbo version can be made for transportation of babies.

Speaking of British love for insects: have you seen Monty Python’s sketches about two disturbed hunters who protected themselves from mosquitoes by killing them using hand grenades, land mines, shotguns, and heavy artillery. Check that site out – very educational.
